JD Samson

JD Samson is best known as a member of multi-media radical queer music projects, MEN and Le Tigre as well as being an internationally touring DJ. JD originally studied experimental film and has focused on translating and adapting work between mediums. JD is self-taught as a musician and has worked as a producer, composer, songwriter, performer, DJ, and artist within the context of pop, dance, film, fashion, television, visual art, podcasts, nightlife, and performance art. JD has hosted TV shows, acted, presented visual art and performance art projects, founded a record label, and is now an Assistant Arts Professor at NYU Tisch Clive Davis Institute of Recorded Music. JD is currently working with Documentary filmmaker Sam Green on a live-streamed piece for Sundance 2021 as a follow up to their work together for the 2019 Whitney Biennial.
